As a Social Media Executive at Vertu Motors plc, one of the largest automotive retailer groups in the UK, you’ll play a key role ensuring end to end delivery of content to enhance our Group’s social media marketing activity. Based in the North East in order to work closely with our Head Office Social team, the role must have a social-first mindset, driving new approaches and our best effort to reach and engage audiences (new and existing) through our content. As part of an award-winning social media team, you will be responsible for helping to maximise reach and engagement, and grow our audiences, across our social media channels with exciting content. You will plan, create, schedule and report upon an incredible range of social media activity to help us achieve set out objectives and meet agreed targets. You will play an important part in contributing to a professional, engaging and informative stream of content to consistently boost awareness and advocacy for our brands, products and services. You’ll be expected to ideate and deliver content, some of which will be guided by our manufacturers, which will be shared across platforms reaching current and obtaining new audiences. Alongside delivery, you’ll be able to adapt your content based on insights and analytics. You’ll also collaborate with the wider marketing team, aligning efforts with our Content, PR, Events, Partnerships, and in-house Studio teams to deliver successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Write engaging, informative and clear social post copy and captions, scheduling content for our brand and manufacturers in a professional and efficient manner. Assist with the admin related to our Group’s main brand pages, dealership network and subsequent vast social media presence online. Support the education of our dealership network, liaising with and coaching them on how to create engaging content in line with the Group’s Social Media Policy. Be accountable for ideating fresh and exciting ways to promote products, services, events and partnerships across the business in an engaging way for our audiences, leveraging social media platforms to raise brand awareness, foster brand advocacy - increasing the likelihood of inquiries and sales. Monitor key performance metrics across all social content, utilising actionable insights to refine and improve future content, in addition to tracking against set targets and objectives within the Social strategy. Be able to transform your ideas into reality by briefing and working with the necessary teams (wider Marketing department, dealership network and/or third party resource and suppliers), planning shoots when required. To work alongside professional video Content Creators (both in-house and external) to capture content, but also do this yourself when needed (e.g. dealership shoots, brand events, as required). Work within our Head Office in Gateshead three days a week. Be able to travel and complete some weekend work in order to capture content with product, partnerships and events, maximising the opportunities these afford when required. This is a hybrid role, based out of our central Gateshead offices and the salary is £28,000. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated experience in working in a social media marketing or similar role, contributing to successful campaigns using a management tool like Sprout, Hootsuite etc. Please be prepared to share portfolio to evidence posting in a variety of formats. Lives and breathes all things social media – must have a consistent interest and understanding of current social media trends and updates, with a firm grasp of leveraging social media platforms to raise brand awareness and increase brand advocacy. A high standard of literacy. Excellent copy writing and communication skills in order to write engaging, persuasive and professional posts and captions, as well as clear and informative briefs to those collaborating with. Confidence in posting ‘on-the-go’ when required, making the most of content opportunities at events and activations. Being agile, reactive and hitting trends efficiently are key. Highly creative with a critical eye for quality content; must have a strong attention to detail and good sense of social media story telling. Competency with photo and video editing software tailored to social media content; must have experience editing in platform (TikTok, Instagram) and using external tools like CapCut and Canva. Ability to work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners as a team player, with a problem-solving mentality. Great organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Understanding of social media platform-specific differences and how to effectively utilise these to promote products or services. A passion for all things automotive, including automotive-themed social media content.
