Job Description:
As an Autism Support Staff Member, you will play a vital role in assisting children with autism in their learning and development. Your primary focus will be to provide one-on-one and group support to pupils, helping them achieve their educational and personal goals in a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with teachers and other staff to support children with autism in the classroom.
2. Assist with developing individualized learning plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
3. Provide emotional and behavioral support, helping students manage challenges.
4. Facilitate social interaction and communication among peers.
5. Implement sensory strategies and other interventions to aid focus and learning.
6. Work in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the child's well-being.
7. Maintain detailed records and reports on students' progress and achievements.
8. Support students during school activities, trips, and daily routines.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
2. A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to working with children.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
5. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of children with autism.
6. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support is advantageous.
