We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance department, offering an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in our business services operation. Description Transactional processing Control and maintain purchase & sales ledger, as required Ensure compliance to authorisation limits Prepare weekly payment runs Work with the Group management accountant to develop and streamline the financial processes Perform and update daily bank transactions Management Reporting Process month end journals, transfers, checks and reconciliations Assist with monthly management accounts for budget holders to strict deadlines, including meaningful analysis, investigation of variances and commentary on key numbers Build strong relationships with budget holders to discuss results; support them with financial analysis and reporting Assist with monthly VCRs and MAPs Reports Produce ad-hoc data analysis and management reports as required Financial Accounting and Analysis Preparations of journal entries for profit/loss account or statement of financial position Produce Self billed tax invoices for relevant subcontractors Have an understanding of how the fixed asset register works, and process relevant journals Assist with appropriate balance sheet reconciliations Perform VAT audit checks Support the Group Management Accountant in year end, month end procedures, and day to day ledger activities Financial Planning Work with relevant budget holders to ensure realistic and accurate budget submissions Ensure budget holders understand planning and reporting requirements, and support them in adhering to those requirements.
