IT Assistant at Deichmann UK
Based in Market Harborough, Deichmann UK is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our IT team as an IT Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £23,000 per annum.
Reporting to: IT Manager
The successful candidate will provide help desk support to stores across the UK, including assistance with tills, computers, telephones, and routers. You will also support colleagues at head office and the warehouse.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about IT, interested in building and maintaining IT equipment, and with excellent cable management skills. We offer on-the-job training to help you develop your knowledge and skills in this field. Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing help desk support for colleagues in stores and at head office, covering hardware and software issues during trading hours.
2. Recording and monitoring faults with till systems and other computer equipment.
3. Maintaining and documenting all computer hardware, software, and network systems.
4. Coordinating till installation and de-installation.
5. Planning hardware requirements and replacements.
6. Assisting in procuring hardware and software for head office, warehouse, and stores.
7. Configuring and setting up new hardware and software.
8. Performing software updates as needed.
9. Documenting landline contracts and fault rectification processes.
10. Undertaking phone and data cabling tasks.
11. Setting up and maintaining mobile phone email configurations.
Personal Characteristics:
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
* Motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
* Analytical with the ability to make timely decisions.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize a busy workload.
* Experience in IT support and network infrastructure in a domestic environment.
* Genuine interest in the evolving field of IT.
* Knowledge of Windows, iOS, and Android systems.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
* Possession of a full UK driving license.
