Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Pathologist to apply for a specialised Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobilliary Pathologist position at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL). The specialist teams at LCL are well established and successful tertiary referral centres with regional and national repute. The cellular pathology service is the specialist laboratory hub of the Cheshire and Merseyside Pathology Network, is the main training centre for cellular pathology trainees, and has strong academic links with University of Liverpool. The service has recently moved to purpose built new laboratory facilities on site at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and full roll out of digital pathology makes this the perfect time to be joining our dynamic and expanding department. The GI and HPB teams support the full range of specimen types and associated pathologies, as well as delivering the regional Bowel Cancer Screening Programme pathology service. Main duties of the job The appointees will have a significant commitment to the specialist pathology team, where close collaboration exists between clinicians and pathologists. Both established pathologists and newly qualified trainees are encouraged to apply if they are looking to develop their careers by joining respected and experienced teams and subspecialising in a friendly and stimulating environment.
