IT Infrastructure Support Technician – Full-Time, Permanent, Role in Central London
We are seeking a talented IT Support Technician to join our team in central London, working closely with our dynamic, scaling business.
The IT Infrastructure Support Technician role involves providing top-notch 24/7 support to internal users and nominated customer gateways, with a focus on delivering quality IT services.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering day-to-day technical support for IT infrastructure and projects
* Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems, software, and applications
* Supporting the administration of corporate servers and applications
* Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly duties as requested by the IT Operations Manager
Key Tasks
* Building laptops and PCs according to internal and customer specifications
* Ensuring the smooth running and patching of the desktop environment
* Managing and supporting onsite A/V equipment, including video conferencing and projectors
Additional Responsibilities
* Following departmental change control process and procedures
* Working within the remit of cyber security policies
* Assisting with the administration of nominated customer IT equipment and networks
* Participating in the 24/7 on-call IT rota, responding to emergencies as required
Supporting IT Infrastructure Engineers
* Supporting IT hosting infrastructure, including storage, virtual environments, email, and backups
* Supporting IT security infrastructure, including antivirus, update/patch management, and web filtering
* Supporting telephony equipment and servers, installation of telephones onto desks
* Supporting remote working environment, including VPNs and RDP
Mandatory Qualifications and Skills
* HND/degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline, or at least 5 years applicable experience
* Broad range of technical skills in diverse IT hardware and business applications
* Sound technical knowledge of core Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktop environments
* Sound technical knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022 administration skills
* Good understanding of IT security, including antivirus, hard drive encryption, and authentication
* Experience of Microsoft Exchange and email services, including spam filtering and cloud continuity/messaging services
* Previous experience in 1st/2nd line support roles
* Ability to achieve Security Clearance (SC/DV)
