Welcome & Service Assistant Manager - Wareham Summary The role of a Welcome and Service Assistant Manager with the National Trust is to uphold the highest of standards in the experience we give to visitors. If you’re a natural motivator, who likes to lead by example to make sure every single person feels welcome and has the best day possible, then this could be the job for you. As part of the operations team you’ll be reporting to the Welcome Manager and working alongside another Assistant Manager. As department leads you will be jointly managing a team of staff and volunteers. As a busy visitor site, Corfe is open all year round so there will be the need to work weekends and bank holidays to ensure full cover and support, leadership and guidance to the Welcome team. This role will also Duty Manage the property on a rotation basis. Availability will be discussed at the interview stage. Interviews are being held at Corfe Castle on Thursday 1 May 2025. Click here for more information about the property. What you'll be doing You’ll be making sure that the welcome every person receives when they come to visit is as special as it could be. You want them to have the best experience of visiting Corfe Castle. Everyone who comes here is contributing to the work of the Trust, in protecting and looking after places so that people and nature can thrive – now and into the future. Your warmth, your care, your high standards and your attention to detail can make all the difference to their day. As Assistant Manager you’ll directly line manage team members, providing support and guidance and helping to solve problems on a daily basis. Whilst mainly a front facing visitor role there will be some degree of behind the scene requirements, aspects of cash handling, compliance and general daily operations. As a property currently undergoing a 2 million conservation project fundraising is a pivotal aspect of the position. Through great conversations with our visitors, you’ll feel confident in talking about membership recruitment, fundraising targets and always aware of how crucial these goals are to the Trust’s cause. By sharing your knowledge of our conservation work both here and throughout the Trust, you’ll help people to see how vital their contribution can be.
