Role: Surgical Services Manager
Type: Permanent and Full-time 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

As Surgical Services Manager, you will be responsible for developing the surgical business within your business area and leading the surgical services team through a transformational change program, ensuring our clinical teams and support services also deliver for our Consultants and keep HCA as the leading private hospital in the group.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Work closely with key business partners, consultants and business development team to ensure innovation and cutting edge development of the service, whilst meeting the strategic goals of the business.
2. Ensure all business KPI’s are met including ‘on-time starts’ and theatre utilisation. Drive our Patient Journey and Consultant Experience improvement plan across the departments.
3. Lead and motivate the Surgical Services Team across the campus ensuring a high standard of nursing care at all times and empowering teams to deliver excellence.
4. Participate in the hospital clinical on call rota for evening and weekend out of hours cover.
5. Work with the Service Line Business Manager, CNO and Management team in order to ensure that manpower planning methodologies are understood and utilised.
6. Work with the Non-Clinical teams, Decontamination Services, Materials, Pharmacy, Front of House, Estates, Bio-Medical Engineering and other Clinical departments ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Skills and Experience
1. RN/ODP (Dip) qualified Practitioner or other recognised qualification.
2. NMC/HCPC Registered or other appropriate trade body.
3. Organisational skills and ability to prioritise and delegate workload effectively and to work in close partnership with other members of the MDT.
4. Commitment to improving patient care outcomes.
5. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
6. Be confident and able to deal with any situations and resolve promptly.
