The responsibilities of the post include completing the statutory reviews of children who are looked after by the local authority. This requires the post holder to chair reviews in accordance with statutory timescales, scrutinise the progress of the care plan between reviews and to raise and escalate concerns where plans are not progressed or where there is a risk to the child. The post holder is also required to maintain contact with children between reviews and liaise with family members and professionals involved with the child.
