Job Title: Project and Systems Engineer

Job Overview:
We are currently working with an engineering business that is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to sit in a hybrid role with a mix of Project and Systems Engineering. This is an exciting role that will be joining their dynamic team in Redditch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing technical projects while ensuring that system designs and implementations meet the company’s quality standards and client requirements. This role involves a combination of project engineering, systems engineering, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
Lead and manage technical engineering projects from conception through delivery.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to ensure project objectives are achieved within defined scope and timelines.
Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Provide regular project status updates to management and stakeholders.
2. Systems Engineering:
Oversee system design, integration, and implementation processes.
Ensure systems meet technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct system analysis, risk assessments, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
Collaborate with engineering teams to create efficient, reliable, and scalable system solutions.
Prepare system documentation, including system requirements, design specifications, and testing plans.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Liaise with cross-functional teams such as R&D, production, and quality assurance to ensure seamless project execution.
Serve as the technical interface between clients and the internal project team.
Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure that all components meet design and functional requirements.
Key Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering and project management, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in technically leading complex engineering projects, from planning through to execution and delivery.
3. Technical Skills:
Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics design.
Experience selecting instrumentation, pumps, motors, and valves.
ATEX experience is beneficial but not fully necessary.
Experience in bespoke machinery design.
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
Ability to create technical documentation, including system diagrams, requirements, and reports.
4. Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
