This is an incredibly rewarding job, no two days are the same and you really will help improve young people's lives Essex County Council are recruiting for the below Travel Trainer - 1 x Full Time Travel Trainer, Send Specialist Education, Covering all areas of Suffolk, Classroom Based. Send Specialist Education Trainer - We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual who can deliver lessons and training in the classroom, plus practical support in a 'real life' setting. The work will be varied, focussing on developing and promoting our educational provision within schools as well as working 1-2-1 with students in various locations across Suffolk to train them on how to access public transport on designated routes such as their home to school journey. When leading the classroom-based sessions you will be educating our students through a structured school-based programme. The role is diverse and you will work within a highly motivated team of Travel Trainers. Role responsibilities will include: Deliver travel training to clients on a 1:1 basis Visit young people and adults in their homes Develop bespoke training plans for each client, considering their additional needs and complexities of the route Provide ongoing feedback to the client and referrer Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new organisations Attend events Support the wider travel training team where applicable Want to know more about the daily role of a travel trainer? Read Suzanne's blog here What you will bring Educated to 'A' level / NVQ level 3 within a relevant sector, plus 5 GCSE's A-C (new GCSE 4-9) including English and Maths, or equivalent experience in the field. Experience within an SEN or adult social care setting is essential, and you should be able to evidence your passion, energy, and enthusiasm for working within this sector. Excellent communicator. Motivated to instil confidence in others whilst building strong rapport. Highly organised, able to manage your workload efficiently, with good IT skills and ability to meet deadlines.
