Electrical Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to work with a range of Mitie clients carrying out electrical safety checks, PAT testing, planned and call out maintenance and repairs.
You must be able to work to high levels of health and safety, understand and be able to work to building statutory requirements and ensure regular monitoring and inspection procedures are carried out for all equipment as part of the preventative maintenance programme.
You should have a full, current, driving licence, be IT literate for record keeping, have good customer service skills, be physically able to carry out the fuller duties detailed in the job description.
The ideal candidate would have a background in facilities or mobile maintenance within the construction sector, or similar, and be qualified to either Level 2/3 City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation and 18th edition.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
2. Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment.
3. Record and keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
4. Maintain a working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures.
5. Undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate.
6. Report any defects at time of service visit.
7. Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time.
8. Understand and comply with policies and procedures.
9. Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
10. Attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
11. Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
Person Specification:
12. City and Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
13. City and Guilds in Testing and Inspection preferable but will train
14. IEE 18th Edition Regulations
15. Experience in dealing with all types of electrical installation work, within the services sector.
16. Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required within the scope of the contract.
17. Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
18. Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.
19. Ability to effectively prioritise own workload.
20. Flexibility and adaptability to change / flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive).
21. Pro-active and positive approach to work.
22. Must have sound interpersonal skills and pay attention to detail.
23. Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
24. Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
25. Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within role.
26. Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
27. Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20kg.
28. Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment; able to work at height.
29. Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
30. Must be available to join a call out rota.
31. Must hold a full UK driving licence.
