Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Practice Nurse to join our friendly & dynamic practice. The post is 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. Main duties of the job The ideal candidate will need to be NMC registered and will carry out all aspects of general nursing including but not limited to: Childhood immunisations Cervical cytology Contraceptive & HRT reviews Wound care/Ulcer care/Doppler Chronic Disease Management Immunisations including travel health care Removal of sutures/clips Venepuncture Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Recognise and manage anaphylaxis according to UK guidelines Perform CPR according to UK guidelines About us Pen Y Cae Surgery is a well-establish practice founded in 2005 and is situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Blaenau Gwent, the birthplace of our NHS.We are an accredited GP training practice and established teaching practice for medical students from Cardiff Medical School.
