What you will do:
1. The focal part of your day-to-day role is to consider new business applications against your delegated lending authority; Where applications fall outside your authority you will need to prepare and write credit applications for underwriting by the Credit Team.
2. Enhance the BDDs and BDMs relationships with their brokers; gather additional information if you think it supports a case and liaise with them when we cannot support, ensuring that the broker understands why.
3. You may occasionally visit customers alongside BDDs or BDMs at times, which gives you the opportunity to obtain a clearer understanding of their background (getting to know our customers), how they want Metro Bank to help them and consequently, how you can surprise and delight them with your product knowledge and AMAZEING service.
4. Gather information from the customer or broker; assess, analyse and interpret financial information such as financial statements, management accounts, profit and loss statements.
5. Have awareness of TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) at all times.
6. Discuss individual cases with the credit team and the ability to put a strong reasoning to support a case if merited.
7. Prepare and submit annual reviews for consideration by the credit team.

What you will need:
1. Experience in a similar role in another organization with knowledge of commercial lending and SME markets.
2. Credit, analytical, and numerical skills.
3. Excellent time management skills are of the essence as you may be working under some time constraints and need to be able to multi-task.
4. Relationship management skills.
5. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
