Hours: 0.6 wte permanent (some flexibility in hours may be possible, secondment considered)
Salary: Band 8a - £53,755 to £60,504 per annum pro rata dependent on experience
The University of Sheffield Clinical Psychology Training Programme is seeking an experienced clinician with an interest in training and developing aspiring clinical psychologists to join the existing programme team as a clinical tutor.
You will be joining an established and enthusiastic team at an exciting time of growth and development. The clinical tutor role involves teaching, tutoring, and supporting trainees enrolled on the 3-year DClinPsy programme along with delivering line management for trainees and other programme activities.
Main Duties of the Job
Together with the Director of Clinical Practice and the clinical tutors in post, the appointee will share the responsibility for organising and overseeing the practice elements of training, ensuring the full involvement of clinical supervisors and service managers, and managing the trainees from an employment perspective. The job also includes involvement in teaching, tutoring, assessment, selection, and supervisor training. Visiting and supporting trainees on placement is a key aspect of the job, and the post-holder will be required to travel within and outside the region as necessary.

Professionally accountable to: Director of Clinical Practice, DClinPsy programme
Reports to: Senior Clinical Tutor/Director of Clinical Practice and Unit Director
Responsible for: Line management of a group of trainee clinical psychologists on the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology programme (Band 6). Responsible for facilitation and monitoring of placements and the development of trainees, contributing to selection, recruitment, and placement allocation and liaison with placement supervisors.

Liaises with: members of the programme team, trainee clinical psychologists, practitioners/supervisors within the NHS and other organisations, staff on other training programmes, and other agencies involved in training.
Job Purpose: To contribute to the organisation, monitoring, and development of defined areas of the clinical practice and employment aspects of training for trainees on the Sheffield Doctor of Clinical Psychology training programme.
General Requirements: To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS and registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the HCPC.
Experience
* Experience of teaching, training, and supervising a clinical psychology trainee.
* Significant experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist with one or more client groups.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and empirical foundations that underpin the practice of clinical psychology including knowledge and understanding within a relevant specialty area for clients who have complex and challenging needs.
