We are proud to collaborate with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dulwich, Southwark, to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Learning Mentor. This outstanding school is committed to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where every child can flourish emotionally, socially, and academically.
The ideal candidate will work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve empowering students to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide bespoke one-on-one and small-group support to students with ASC, SEMH, and behavioural needs.
- Assist teachers in maintaining a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to help students regulate their emotions and manage their behaviour effectively.
- Build trusting and positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.
- Work collaboratively with school staff and families to ensure tailored support and monitor student progress.
Requirements
- Experience working with primary-aged children with ASC, SEMH, and behavioural challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, approachable, and supportive manner.
- A collaborative, team-focused attitude and the ability to engage with students on a personal level.
- A genuine passion for promoting children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3) are desirable but not essential.
