We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Manager to manage our client's Scottish Water framework initially. As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
You will report directly to the Contracts Manager and work closely with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reporting directly to a Contracts Manager overseeing site teams and subcontractors and take full responsibility for the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with the budgetary, programme and quality requirements.
2. Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise from details issued or from situations as they arise on site.
3. Keeping the project team informed on all relevant aspects of technical & engineering issues that arise on the project.
4. Ensuring that contractors on site execute works as per method statement & risk assessment.
5. Ensuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specifications.
6. Assisting with the selection and requisition of materials and plant management.
7. Monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client/architect.
8. Liaising with the client and subcontractors and any stakeholders involved in the project day-to-day management of the site.
9. Set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations.
10. Maintain and manage construction sites and subcontractors, ensuring all subcontractors follow procedures and processes.
11. Establish and promote best quality, safety & environmental practices.
12. Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation.
Selection Criteria / Person Specification:
1. Min Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering/Environmental.
2. Extensive experience of managing projects within a civils/ Scottish water environment.
3. Experience of MS Suite.
4. Valid CSCS and SMSTS.
5. Accuracy, attention to detail and a methodical nature are key.
6. Ability to lead, use initiative and work as part of a team.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Time management and planning skills.
9. Experience of controlling budgets and reporting to a senior management team.
Salary is open to negotiation, with all projects initially being in the central belt in Scotland. The client is looking to expand so future projects could be country-wide. Start date is also negotiable.
