As a Development Trainee, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential housing projects, from site identification to planning, delivery, and aftercare.
Raven is here to make a difference, working as a team to build homes and change lives. We’re ambitious: a sector-leader in sustainability, with commercial ventures and a focus on the future.
As a Development Trainee, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential housing projects, from site identification to planning, delivery, and aftercare. You’ll contribute to our regeneration efforts, undertake key research and help to drive customer satisfaction at every step of the way. This varied role will give you hands on experience across the Homes Directorate, including supporting elements of our sustainability retrofit programme and across Health and Safety, Compliance and Asset Management.
In return for your hard work, we’ll invest in your growth by providing access to an APM qualification, tailored internal and external training, and a supportive, dynamic environment where you can make a real impact. Plus, you’ll enjoy the flexibility and support to work in a way that brings out the best in you!
What you’ll achieve in the role:
Key responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with the Development and Sales teams to help deliver our new build programme and meet targets, ensuring alignment with our internal procedures.
* Joining project teams alongside external consultants and contractors, playing a key role in moving projects forward.
* With initial guidance, taking the lead on smaller projects, such as leasehold buybacks, disposal sales, and lease reviews and on to new build sites.
* Providing vital support to the team by handling tasks like invoice processing, data collection, surveying, and void property checks.
What you’ll bring to Raven:
For this role, we are looking for someone with the following:
* An interest in or awareness of the social housing sector and its impact.
* Familiarity with basic project management concepts, such as planning, organisation, and time management, either through education or related experiences.
* Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders and external partners, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to think critically and find practical solutions to challenges that arise during projects.
* Openness to learning new skills, technologies, and procedures, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
* A careful and thorough approach to tasks, ensuring accuracy in documentation, data management, and other related activities.
* An understanding of the importance of customer satisfaction and a willingness to ensure that customer needs are met.
* A team player, equally able to take responsibility for individual actions and work independently.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a readiness to learn new software tools.
You will also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively, and caring about making things better.
A full driving licence, use of your own vehicle with relevant insurance and DBS clearance will be required for this role.
