About the role
Are you passionate about ensuring the health and safety of a workforce who are committed to supporting the community and improving health and wellbeing outcomes for all, including those impacted by drug use? We’re looking for a health and safety expert to support programs across North Richmond Community Health, including a GP service, allied health, dental, and our unique Medically Supervised Injecting Room and Outreach program.
In this exciting role, you will review and improve the health and safety systems at NRCH, collaborating closely with managers and staff to implement innovations and improvements. Your specialist advice will support NRCH to improve health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes for our people.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide consistent and timely advice to managers and staff across a broad range of health, safety, and wellbeing issues.
* Foster a collaborative culture of consultation at NRCH in relation to health, safety, and wellbeing improvements.
* Develop and maintain a tailored health and safety management framework.
* Lead projects to understand and address OVA and preventive measures.
* Coordinate and support the Work Health and Safety, OVA, and staff wellbeing committees.
* Conduct risk assessments in collaboration with HSRs and support the implementation of control measures.
* Conduct incident investigations and make recommendations for remedial action.
* Review and revise policies and procedures which support NRCH to meet its health and safety obligations.
* Coach others to improve their health and safety awareness.
About you
In addition to your sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations and other technical expertise, you have great relationship-building skills and the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders.
You are community-minded and enjoy making a difference in a value-led organisation which supports those that experience disadvantage.
You can work in complex environments and operate in ambiguity, demonstrating resilience in the face of unique challenges.
Experience in the healthcare sector, or another complex operational environment which presents risk of OVA, would support your success in the role.
