Project Manager in Civil Engineering (Water Project)
Location: Worcester
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
About the Role:
Our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure company, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple ongoing projects. This role demands a proactive individual capable of delivering projects to the highest standards of quality, on schedule, and within budget. You will collaborate closely with estimating teams, site delivery teams, and surveyors to ensure safety and exceed client expectations.
This is for a Water Treatment project based in Worcester.
Key Responsibilities:
General Management
* Produce financial forecasts, monitor project costs, and provide performance reports to the Contracts Manager.
* Manage projects from design to completion, including handover documentation.
* Lead site meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.
* Develop and maintain construction programmes and project plans.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and design consultants.
* Implement efficient labour organisation and team building.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)
* Promote and enforce HSE procedures, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
* Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation and produce monthly HSE reports.
* Oversee training and briefings, ensuring all site personnel adhere to HSE best practices.
Quality Management
* Develop and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
* Ensure the QA file is up to date, resolving technical queries, and submitting as-built documents and O&M manuals upon project completion.
Key Measures & Targets
* Adherence to reporting timescales and contract deadlines.
* Achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and business unit objectives.
Key Relationships
* Clients and stakeholders.
* Subcontractors and suppliers.
* Internal site teams and support departments.
What will the ideal candidate have?
* Strong knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design and risk management, and cost control.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent software.
* Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* CSCS Manager's card and SMSTS certification.
* Familiarity with NEC contracts, including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
