Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will provide the drive, experience and expertise necessary to ensure successful completion of control panels and automation assemblies to approved designs at the manufacturing facility. You will assist in coordinating the labour resources, parts and materials required for completion of assemblies and provide close supervision to a team of fellow Panel Builders and associated supporting operatives.
About You
Already an experienced Panel Builder and supervisor, you will demonstrate broad capabilities in control panel assembly, testing, and completion of the associated test/commissioning documentation as well as strong day to day supervisory skills developed through your time working in a similar industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble, test, service and rectify a variety of electrical control panels and associated automation equipment
* Determine and maintain efficient work procedures and techniques
* Communicate and adopt safe systems of work (RAMS) and observe the requirements of any Permit to Work issued by site Duty Holders
* Engage in the determination of work rotas and assignment of tasks
* Assess tasks for completeness and report any issues or variations
* Complete control panel test reports and job documentation
* Ensure all tools and equipment in use are certified and/or calibrated
* Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and other third parties
* Undertake specialist training as required and keep up to date with statutory and legislative requirements
* Demonstrate and apply the principles of continuous improvement to achieve 'Best Practice'
You will need
* +5 years' experience of industrial control panel assembly
* A comprehensive toolkit for completing assembly of control panels
* Experience of working on own initiative
* Excellent interpersonal, IT and communication skills
* To be a team player and customer focused
Qualifications and Licences
* NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Services - Panel Wiring / Panel Builder or Mechanical Manufacture Engineering (fitting and assembly) or equivalent Approved Apprenticeship in Panel Wiring /Panel Building (Required)
