JDRoss are working with a leading provider of groundworks and civil engineering solutions, specialising in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. After winning work on one of the largest construction projects Europe they are seeking a quantity surveyor to join their team.
The successful candidate will have a background in civil engineering to manage the financial and contractual aspects of our groundworks projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for groundworks projects, including earthworks, drainage, and other civil engineering works.
* Conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed reports on project costs and financial viability.
* Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to management and stakeholders.
* Manage contracts and procurement processes, including negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure effective project delivery.
* Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify work completed against project specifications and budgets.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and documentation related to projects.
* Provide advice and support on cost control and value engineering initiatives.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the civil engineering or relevant sector.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Excel, or similar quantity surveying tools).
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Membership or working towards membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).
