We are seeking a permanent Head of Service to join our children’s service leadership team. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues to ensure high standards of service delivery and staff development, aiming to provide the best outcomes for children and young people. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive change, embed high standards of practice, and collaborate with partner agencies to focus on family and community-based care, ensuring children have equal opportunities as their peers.

About the Role
We are adopting systemic social work practice and focus on relational approaches. This role supports the continuation and expansion of our Disabled Children’s Team, ensuring targeted support for children with diverse needs while maintaining safeguarding priorities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a qualified social worker with management experience, a strong understanding of working with disabled children, legal processes, and a passion for improving outcomes. Knowledge of the Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) role is essential. A relevant social work qualification and leadership experience are required.
