We are currently looking for an experienced paint sprayer to join the team for our client based in Milton Keynes.
Summary:
A Paint Sprayer is responsible for applying paint and other finishes to vehicles, vehicle components, machinery, equipment, and various surfaces using spray guns. This role involves ensuring a high-quality finish, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Surface Preparation:
Cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces prior to painting.
Ensuring surfaces are properly primed and free of defects before application.
2. Painting and Finishing:
Mixing paints to achieve desired colours and consistencies.
Applying paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray guns or other applicators.
Achieving uniform coverage and thickness according to specifications.
3. Inspection and Quality Control:
Inspecting finished surfaces for quality and making necessary touch-ups or corrections.
Ensuring all painted surfaces meet company standards and customer specifications.
4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining spray equipment and tools.
Cleaning spray guns, hoses, and other equipment after use to ensure longevity and performance.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in transport body repair or paint preparation is essential.
2. NVQ level 2 or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
3. Experience in the use of water-based paint is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Proficiency in using spray guns and other painting tools.
2. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
3. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
4. Ability to mix and match colours accurately.
5. Knowledge of safety protocols and handling of hazardous materials.
Other Requirements:
There may be a requirement to work alternating shifts - Earlies and lates.
Must be able to pass a medical.
Various shift patterns available.
