Salary : £39,000 - £43,000 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Welsh language skills aren't necessary for this role.
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales (BBC NOW) is looking for a Digital Producer to bring their work to life online. This role is all about creating high-quality digital content, managing live-streamed concerts, and enhancing the orchestra’s online presence to connect with audiences across Wales and beyond.
You’ll be producing videos, photography, and social media content that showcase BBC NOW in exciting and engaging ways. Managing live-streamed concerts will be a key part of the role, and if you’re not already familiar with BBC systems like Silver and Eavis, we’ll support you in learning them. You’ll also play a vital role in keeping our website fresh and up to date, ensuring it remains a dynamic hub for our audiences.
Strong project management skills are essential. You’ll be responsible for delivering digital content on time, supporting marketing campaigns, and making sure funding objectives are met. A good knowledge of filming equipment, video production tools like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, and photography software like Photoshop will help you hit the ground running.
This role involves capturing photos and short-form video content to showcase BBC NOW’s artistic output across various concert halls in the UK. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and transporting compact camera equipment and must be comfortable working in confined spaces, such as camera rooms and on-location setups.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll be working closely with musicians, TV and radio teams, and colleagues across many BBC departments to bring digital projects to life. Social media expertise is also key—you’ll be creating engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences and helps grow our reach. Flexibility is important, as the role will involve attending evening and weekend concerts and filming sessions when required.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

You will oversee the daily production of videos, photography, and website updates, ensuring content is delivered on schedule to support marketing campaigns and funding objectives. A strong understanding of filming equipment, video editing tools like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, and photography software such as Photoshop is essential. You will play a key role in coordinating and producing engaging social media content, including short-form videos, to connect with diverse audiences across Wales and beyond. Managing live-streamed concerts will be a major focus, and if you are not already familiar with BBC systems like Silver and Eavis, training will be provided. Collaboration is central to this role, as you will work closely with musicians, TV and radio teams, and colleagues across BBC departments. Additionally, you will support website management, ensuring the BBC NOW site remains fresh and relevant. A background in music or the ability to read music is highly desirable. You should be confident in taking initiative, motivating others, and developing strategic digital approaches to expand BBC NOW’s reach. A willingness to attend evening and weekend concerts and filming sessions is essential. Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

Prior experience in creating digital content in the music industry is highly desirable, with the ability to read music considered an advantage.
