Job Purpose and Context:
As a Social Worker - Advanced, you will provide a high-quality and comprehensive social work service to adults, carers, and the community in accordance with statutory guidelines and the Authority's needs, policies, and practices. You will manage a complex caseload, including the assessment and management of risk.
Accountabilities:
1. Undertake a wide range of complex assessments including Community Care and Best Interest Assessments.
2. Construct innovative and cost-effective solutions.
3. Carry out Safeguarding investigations within multi-agency procedures.
What you will do:
1. Conduct risk assessments and identify needs and options.
2. Use a person-centred approach to develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, their families, and carers, enabling them to make informed choices.
3. Promote independence and early intervention, helping resolve conflict.
4. Contribute to the enhanced screening of new referrals and existing service users.
5. Work in courts with appropriate support to obtain and implement court orders.
6. Participate in the Approved Mental Health Practitioner rota where qualified.
7. Undertake the office duty role as required.
Skills, knowledge, and experience:
We are looking for someone with considerable experience working in a statutory setting who is adept at planning, managing, prioritising, and evaluating work with service users. The ideal candidate will be skilled in negotiating, challenging, managing conflict, and using reflective practice techniques effectively. A professional social work qualification is required.
