Tasks for the role will be to learn in the use and implementation of Dimensional Control equipment and software, also, be able to provide advice, guidance, and support for all areas of the business for Dimensional Control and Quality Inspection related activities.
This role will involve using learned specialist knowledge to champion Right First-Time approach to Quality. You will be able to identify and share best practice as part of a Quality team and provide detailed reports as part of the service delivery to internal and external clients.
Main Tasks:
•To Undertaking Surveys and Creating report outputs for dimension control activities undertaken by the Quality department, including complex panels, units, blocks or buildings and infrastructure.
•Reviewing Models to allow reports to be accurately produced.
•Reviewing nesting / profiling information supplied.
•Review drawings for buildability of the work scope.
•Liaising with production to identify and solve problems.
•To help develop key procedures and process related to Dimension Control helping in compliance with Cammell Laird IMS policies, instructions and guidance.
•To report and advise relevant Supervisors, Department Heads and Managers within their areas and to provide key support Quality risks relating to Dimensional Control.
•Be an active member of the Cammell Laird Quality Team whilst providing practical advice, support and guidance on Dimensional Control.
•To regularly help develop and deliver any Quality Alerts and toolbox talks which offer guidance in in Dimensional activities.
•Work closely with the Production Supervisors/Managers to ensure Quality Compliance to tolerance requirements.
•Help identify any root causes of ‘Out of tolerances' to Cammell Laird operations and manufactured item.
•Help to support any weekly, monthly reports as necessary, for supporting Key Quality performance data as required.
•To support the Operations / Production Directors in the continual development of the organisation's IMS and ensure implementation at shop floor level.
•Undertake continued professional development (CPD) through the development of HSEQ competencies and safety networking opportunities.
•Attend any Management / project meetings as required to support Quality related activities.

•Responsible for the direct daily management of the assigned team members ensuring safety, quality, productivity and cost areas are prioritised.

Quality:
•Support Quality Department in the implementation and monitoring of the Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Request for Inspection (RFI) process and helping to improve the ‘Right First Time' (RFT).
•To advise Supervisors, Managers, and Project Directors of any Quality risk/issues and identify appropriate corrective actions.
•Help ensure effective Correction and Corrective actions are implemented because of NCR or customer complaints.
•Help support Root Cause Investigations (RCA) support Continuous Improvements and monitor for effectiveness.
•Assist and support with any Quality related Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
•Help provide Quality metrics to support reporting for projects.

•IRCA approved certification in internal / lead auditor – D
•Full UK driving license – D
•HNC/D In Fabrication, Welding or Engineering – D
•Conversant with Spatial Analyser / RHINO and CAD software packages - D
