A vacancy has arisen for a Production Administration Assistant to support our busy operations team. The successful candidate will work in a production office, and the role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the production office by providing administrative support with a varied range of tasks. The role is based in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne.
You will be dealing with orders, customers, suppliers, and the production office on a daily basis.
This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
The role
1. Support the production team with daily administrative paperwork.
2. Raise purchase orders.
3. Complete spreadsheets.
4. Daily tracking of externally ordered items and processes.
5. Accurately input and update data in departmental databases and systems.
6. Act as a liaison between the production departments and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
7. Ensure all activities comply with industry standards, team policies, and regulatory requirements.
8. Liaise with customers and suppliers both over the phone and by email.
9. Work 39 hours per week; overtime is available after 39 hours.
What you will need:
1. Previous experience in a similar manufacturing/production environment is essential.
2. A structured approach to work.
3. Good organization and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
5. A confident telephone manner.
6. Good IT skills with practical understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
7. The ability to work with others and support others effectively in a team.
8. Be inquisitive.
9. Be educated to GCSE level 1 in both Maths and English (or equivalent).
10. Be flexible in relation to overtime.
This role will be permanent after a probation period.
