Financial Controller An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Group Finance Department of a growing PE backed business for a driven, ambitious and enthusiastic individual. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will be part of the Group Finance Department and Divisional Financial Controller, and you will oversee and be involved in all financial matters, including: Financial & management accounting Board pack production MI and KPI Reporting System, control and process improvements, One off project work including potential ERP move. The group is highly acquisitive and has ambitious growth plans being a PE backed business. The forecast growth will create the perfect career path for the appropriate candidate. Role Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations of certain subsidiaries of the group Ensuring the businesses maintain a strong financial control environment Leading and developing the finance team Oversight of the preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, BS, CF vs budget key KPIs) Oversight of monthly BS controls and reconciliations Lead preparation of monthly board packs Working with the FP&A team to understand variances to budget and flag where there are overspend Business partnering with MDs and work with them to improve reporting (additional dimensions etc) Leading preparation of 13 week cashflow forecasting on a weekly basis Leading preparation of weekly and monthly report to the PE house Leading year end audit and statutory accounts production Constant review of financial processes and system to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency Oversea the preparation of the Quarterly VAT returns & assist with other tax processes (in depth tax knowledge is not a requirement) Line management responsibilities Provide ad hoc support to the CFO and Group FD The Candidate Accountancy Qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - Minimum 4 years post qualification experience Industry experience is essential Positive, can-do attitude with an enthusiastic and energetic approach to work There is a high number of Subsidiaries being looked after so need to be very organised Experience of improving processes to make them more efficient and better controlled Confident management skills and ability to manage a small team Confidence to challenge the status quo and suggest improvements PE Experience would be advantageous
