Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as part of our friendly team at Warrington and Halton Hospitals Trust.
The successful applicant's main duties will be to support the cardiac doctors with pacemaker implants, perform pacemaker follow-ups, and monitor haemodynamics during cardiac catheter procedures. Other duties will include the routine non-invasive cardio-respiratory tests carried out at the present time.
Main duties of the job
1. Complete an intense Cardiac Device Training Programme and successfully achieve BHRS (or equivalent) accreditation (if not already started).
2. To maintain appropriate CPD and remain current with developments in the field of Cardiology.

Job description Job responsibilities
To be technically proficient as a competent practitioner in the following clinical procedures:
* Recording and interpretation of 12 Lead Electrocardiograms on all age groups, able to alert medical staff to adverse results requiring urgent medical intervention.
* Application of 24 hour ambulatory ECG and BP recorders to include analysis of the clinical data and production of a written report thereof for all age groups.
* Assist with medically supervised exercise tolerance stress tests on all age groups.
* To develop/maintain competencies in invasive monitoring techniques in the Coronary Angiography Suite.
* To provide support to the senior staff during Stress echocardiography.
* Supervision and organisation of junior staff within the department, identifying any learning needs.
* To participate in training of trainees and ATOs within the department.
* To maintain appropriate CPD and remain current with developments in the field of Cardiology.
* Participate in all communication/training activities, both within the department and with other departments involved in supporting the service.
* Able to perform immediate life support.
* To undertake care and maintenance of equipment in the department.
* Assist with ensuring compliance with all quality standards.
* To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures as laid out in the Employee Handbook and Departmental Quality Guidelines.
* Routine clerical/administrative duties to include processing patient reports and input of data to the computerised system. Ensuring patient confidentiality is strictly maintained in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
Additional Optional Duties
* To Train and become competent in Basic Echocardiography, studying for BSE accreditation when appropriate.
* To train and become competent in assisting with the implantation and follow-up of Permanent Pacemakers, studying for BHRS when appropriate.

* Relevant degree and AHCS registration.
