Function / Area: Finance Reporting to: AVP of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development Position Summary The main focus of the role is to independently manage and strengthen the Management Information (“MI”) capabilities of Finance and provide the Executive team with insight into financial performance. The individual will work closely with the Finance Business Partnering team and senior stakeholders by providing them with ad hoc analysis and insight to support commercial decision making, as well as producing regular financial performance presentations and reports for management and Board meetings. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will support the AVP of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development and contribute to one or more of the following activities: Provide senior management with insight into financial performance on a monthly basis, and support the accounting team month-end analysis where needed. Production of month-end financial MI reports (e.g. “Premium” and “P&L” reports) and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data. Collaborate where appropriate with Data and Analytics. Manage the monthly forecasting activities and report the outlook to the CEO, CFO and Chief Actuary & Risk Officer. Manage the P&L model including the sharing of data with the US parent company. Work towards standardising and simplifying the organisation’s financial MI and creating greater insight and alignment with CNA Hardy’s US parent company. This will involve participation in data governance and business transformation project meetings. Provide the business with MI training sessions and help the business become more self-sufficient. Draw in external industry insight including the production of regular financial performance and peer benchmarking presentations for Leadership and Board meetings. Provide the Business Partnering team and senior stakeholders with ad-hoc MI and analysis to support commercial decision making. Identify areas for improvement or opportunities to drive value across the organisation. Produce financial materials for Board meetings, Committees, Townhalls and other similar forums. Support and contribute to the design and implementation of a new financial planning tool as well as supporting the annual planning cycle. May perform other duties as required. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Experience in a financial management information role within the insurance industry with knowledge of insurance accounting. An ability to manage large and complex datasets in a variety of formats. Intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills with a track record of drawing business insights and making recommendations. Strong leadership qualities with an ability to build and strengthen Finance’s MI capabilities. Accomplished communication skills with experience of working with senior stakeholders.
