Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a variety of children through 1:1 and Intervention support. This is a full-time role in a vibrant, caring school in Chorley. The role includes 1:1 support with children with additional needs and leading interventions with groups of children.
The Teaching Assistant position is to begin in September and will potentially become a permanent position at the school. This is an excellent opportunity to become a full-time staff member within a successful primary school, in a varied and interesting role.
The school has high expectations for the children, and staff work hard to ensure that every child receives the provision they need to reach their potential. Experience of working on a 1:1 basis is required, and experience of helping children to manage their behaviour, emotions, and social interactions is essential. You will need to have good curriculum knowledge as you will be working with groups of children at all ability levels throughout Key Stage 1 & 2.

The Successful Teaching Assistant Will Be:
1. Experienced in supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis.
2. Confident supporting learning in Maths and English.
3. Experienced managing a variety of additional needs.
4. Approachable, calm, and a good team player.
5. Available long-term.
The Successful Teaching Assistant Will Have:
1. Level 2 or Level 3 qualification relating to supporting teaching and learning in schools, relevant degree, or relevant experience.
2. UK classroom experience.
3. Eligibility to work in the UK.
4. References covering the last 2 years.
5. A fully enhanced DBS on the online update service or be prepared to process a new one at a cost.
