Project Manager – Retrofit Operations
About Sero:
Sero was founded to make a connection between homes and energy, and to use technology to make both these easier and smarter together. We do this to save our customers money and to save time for them, but we also do it to save our planet.
To tackle the Climate Emergency, we provide clever energy services that automatically reduce the carbon footprint of the homes we run. We are striving to become a thought leader in the world of energy technology savings and collaborate with home builders and landlords to help them understand what to do with their buildings to achieve zero carbon.
Your contribution will be key to the team's success as we work together to drive forward energy efficiency and NetZero initiatives. We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for creating sustainable solutions and is eager to make a meaningful impact in this growing and dynamic field.
How you will help:
We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager to collaborate with our social landlord partners on projects focused on energy efficiency and retrofit. In this role, you'll lead multiple projects through all delivery stages, serving as the primary contact for our partners. Your responsibilities will include coordinating outputs from various Sero teams, managing project meetings, budgets, and forecasts, and ensuring seamless delivery.
While rooted in the Retrofit housing sector, our projects touch upon utilities, building services, technology development, renewables, and zero-carbon design. We're looking for someone passionate about making a tangible impact, committed to continuous improvement, and eager to help shape our processes and procedures as we pave the way to a sustainable future.
What we’ll be asking you to do:
* Oversee and manage multiple projects at all stages of delivery, from planning to execution, ensuring they meet time, quality, and cost targets.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, managing relationships, project meetings, and communications to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
* Coordinate the efforts of internal Sero teams, ensuring that deliverables are met and communicated effectively to partners.
* Manage project budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met and any variances are promptly addressed.
* Take ownership of project-related issues, leading efforts to resolve them while continuously seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.
* Engage in retrofit coordination and energy services, underpinned by Sero’s unique offerings, to help deliver net-zero homes.
* Contribute to the evolution of Sero’s processes and procedures, ensuring they are efficient and aligned with industry best practices.
* Ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with relevant industry guidelines, standards, and best practices.
* Proactively identify new opportunities for improvement and growth, helping Sero deliver more effective net-zero solutions.
* Work closely with other teams within Sero, providing leadership and support to ensure successful project delivery.
* Manage project documentation, including reports, track progress and provide updates to stakeholders.
* Flexibly support the wider project management and delivery team, including on-the-ground construction activities when necessary.
To Hit the Ground Running:
We’re hoping to find someone with the following skills and experience:
* Previous project management experience
* Technical knowledge of retrofit and funding streams
* Stakeholder management experience
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* A passion for net-zero
* An adherence to and respect for compliance and best practice
* Strong experience within Excel at an intermediate level – expectation to create and amend reports utilising lookups, pivot tables, charts and power queries
* Strong commercial awareness and acumen
