Why Join as a Health & Safety Manager? • Attractive salary up to £65,000 (DOE) • Company vehicle fuel card • 6% employer pension contribution • Life assurance policy • Salary sacrifice schemes • Career progression opportunities • Collaborative, people-first culture where your voice is heard Key Responsibilities of the Health & Safety Manager: • Act as SHEQ lead across all business divisions and project sites • Provide expert legislative and regulatory SHEQ advice to Directors and Managers • Develop, implement, and maintain robust H&S policies and management systems • Carry out frequent site inspections and internal audits to monitor compliance • Analyse performance data, spot trends, and produce monthly reports to drive improvements • Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring accurate documentation and preventive follow-ups • Deliver safety alerts and lessons learned communications across the business • Oversee and deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks • Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain ISO (9001, 14001 etc.) and Health & Safety accreditations • Maintain and update QMS documentation, staff training matrices, and company SHEQ objectives What We’re Looking For in a Health & Safety Manager: • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety • Degree/Diploma in H&S, Environmental Management or related field • Strong knowledge of construction-specific SHEQ legislation and standards • Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or SHEQ Manager role within construction or civil engineering • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills • Able to lead from the front, influence behaviour, and build trust across all levels • Organised, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement • Full UK Driving Licence required – regular travel to sites and other offices is essential If you are a Health & Safety Manager that holds experience in working for either a Main Contractor, or Construction Consultancy then please reach out to Sam Patuzzo at Samuel James
