Senior/Principal Civil Engineer - 12 Month Contract or Staff - Based in Manchester
Our Client has a requirement for a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer who will be required to work on a 12 Month Contract or Staff basis in Manchester
Date Required: From 1st May 2025
Employment Type: Permanent or Contract
If contract it will fall Outside IR35
Location: Full-time based at our office in Trafford House
* Site Visits: Occasional site visits required – all travel expenses will be reimbursed
* Remote Working: Occasional work from home may be possible when agreed in advance. After the first 3 months, strong candidates may be eligible for 1 to 2 days working from home per week, subject to agreement.
Responsibilities
* Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
* Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team.
* Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
* Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications.
* Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
* Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
* Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
* Estimate hours required for design packages.
* Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry.
* Graduate, HND or significant experience from Technician level.
* Good level of IT proficiency.
* Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
* Chartered Engineer.
* Experience with both clean and dirty water projects.
* Awareness of construction methods and materials.
* Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices.
