Mechanical Engineer
Company: FMCG Manufacturing
Location: Torquay
Salary: £47,000 - £50,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days and nights
Are you a hands-on Mechanical Engineer looking to develop your career and join an ever-growing independent manufacturing company with ongoing projects?
For this role, electrical bias is not the case. I'm looking to speak with the best mechanically inclined candidates. You should be a strong Maintenance Engineer with basic electrical knowledge (fault finding and rewiring). Proven experience in reactive and preventative breakdowns, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyor belts, pumps, and gearbox knowledge, is essential. You should have very good communication skills and be able to thrive in a busy environment while eager to learn the company's processes and work in line with their ambitions.
With continuous projects, no day is the same, and there is always something to get your teeth stuck into. You'll play an important role in the production process, responsible for the smooth operation of machinery and ensuring that production is carried out effectively and efficiently. We aspire to become a truly world-class Engineering team, and your involvement will be integral in making it happen.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer (basic electrical knowledge required)
* An appropriate Engineering qualification (NVQ, Apprentice trained)
* Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
* Ideally, experience in food manufacturing or FMCG production environments, though this is not absolutely necessary
Key Responsibilities:
* Carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery and plant.
* Minimising downtime and fault finding on a range of machinery in a fast-paced and large-scale manufacturing environment.
* Assisting with root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and general daily operational efficiencies.
* Assisting with project work as required, including the introduction of new plant and equipment.
Feel like you have what it takes or considering a change? Apply now, and I'll be in touch (Dan). If your CV isn't quite ready, give me a call, and we can have a confidential conversation.
