Job overview
A vacancy has arisen within the North In-Patients admin team based at St Georges Hospital, Morpeth. This is a permanent part-time Band 3 role supporting In-Patients Occupational Therapy, Exercise Therapy, and Physio.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the North In-Patients admin team to provide allocated and dedicated admin support to Exercise Therapy, Physio, and Occupational Therapy teams which will include arranging and note-taking of meetings, diary management, call handling, purchase ordering, processing/typing/checking documentation, audio transcription, as well as other ad hoc office tasks such as photocopying, binding, laminating, etc.
Key skills required
* Secretarial experience working within a team
* Experience in a customer/patient or service user focused environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A good understanding of the RIO system (training will be given)
* A good knowledge of Microsoft Word/Office packages
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to be self-directed, motivated and contribute positively within a team
* Well organised and structured
* Demonstrate flexibility in the role
Person specification
Education and Qualification
* Word-processing skills at Level 3 (OCR/RSA Level 3 or equivalent qualification and/or demonstrable relevant experience) e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent)
* Audio Typing qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
* General level of education to O-Level/GCSE or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 in Customer Care (or equivalent)
Knowledge and Experience
* Working for a clinical team in NHS environment
* Knowledge of NHS Policies and Procedures
* Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including e-mail communication
* Ability to maintain and update Patient Information Systems e.g. RiO
* Good working knowledge of office procedures
* Previous secretarial/clerical experience
* Office experience of 1 year minimum
