Aims of position: We are seeking a Mealtime Experience & Hospitality assistant in Milton Keynes. This is a Full-Time and permanent position. To work as part of the catering team, with responsibility for the provision of the delivery of the highest quality mealtime experience possible for our residents. This role will cover several bases from working on the units with the staff to liaising with the kitchen teams on site and with the Catering manager, Unit managers and Registered manager as and when needed. This role is to assist in making sure that before, during and after mealtimes that the mealtime experience is resident centered and tailored specifically to each resident and unit for the highest standard possible. This will also mean working alongside the unit staff making sure they know how to order food, and are aware of IDDSI levels, dietary requirements and allergens when doing this. This role will be to work alongside the kitchen teams as well as another mealtime experience assistant in Eaglewood centre in Peterborough as assisting where the business requires you. Responsibilities: To ensure a high-quality dining experience is provided for the residents who use our service: with the help of the unit staff that the dining areas are kept clean and tidy, cutlery and cups are polished, cruets are clean and refilled, tables are appropriately laid to suit the menus of the day, the menus are available throughout each meal and a calm and cheerful ambience is created that will enhance the dining experience for all those in our care. All the dietary requirements and needs of the residents as well as food safety, health and safety standards of PJ Care Ltd Policies and Procedures. To ensure the unit staff during the mealtime experience are following the correct ways of serving and delivering residents’ meals and beverages and assisting them as necessary. This role will also mean working alongside the environmental auditing team so help improve our provision on a regular basis. Making sure unit staff are taking daily food orders from residents and communicating to the kitchen teams as and when needed. To help the Kafoodle coordinator with the role out and usage of the online food ordering system and to help make sure that staff then know how to use it when ordering food with the residents and kitchen teams. To ensure that daily records, where appropriate, are maintained for food and fridge temps when required. To ensure a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is always maintained throughout the dining areas, including kitchenettes and cleaning schedules are completed as required. To ensure the unit staff have made sure that all equipment, utensils and condiments are clean, and well maintained. Understand the specific diets identified as required by residents and share any dietary concerns with the Head Chef & kitchen teams. To ensure the unit staff have made sure that they are supporting residents in making different food choices when they dislike the meals offered or the variety available on the daily menu. That they have good knowledge and understating of specific dietary requirements of residents, including diabetic diet, modified textures (IDSSI) Responsible for ensuring the unit staff have made sure that they deliver person-centered meal service and identification of individual needs and preferences, allergies or intolerances. To collect, set-up and deliver all food service, hospitality, room, and conference services as required at Mallard, Bluebirds or Head Office. To ensure that all hospitality and food & beverages served are to the required standards in respect of quantity, quality and presentation and at the proper time. Having regular meetings with the mealtime experience and hospitality lead to make sure that we are implementing a consistent provision to our residents across all sites and that the standards expected are met on a daily basis. The working hours will be on a rota of earlies and lates doing 7am to 4pm one week (Monday to Friday) then 10am to 7pm the next week (Wednesday to Sunday). Having kitchen/front of house/Hospitality experience would be advantageous but not essential and being able to drive is a must. This role will require a DBS to be completed.
