Training: Metrolink is committed to the professional development of our people, you will receive lots of support and on the job training, setting you up on the right track for success and helping you build your career with us. As a new Driver your first twelve weeks will be attending our driver training programme, this includes gaining insightful knowledge on the role, meeting the team, practical assessments, safety training, written exams and simulator training. To ensure you get the best out of the new starter training programme, during the initial twelve week training we do require you to have full attendance during this period. As part of the recruitment process, we will need to understand if you have any prior holidays or commitments before starting in role. The next training programme start date is: Monday 10 March 2025 So, If you would love to join the team driving one of Greater Manchester’s iconic Metrolink trams, what are you waiting for, we can’t wait to hear from you Minimum Requirements: There are some minimal requirements that we require you to meet: Be over the age of 21 Be able to work irregular shift patterns which will include nights, weekends & bank holidays Hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points. Furthermore, you must have at least 2 years’ driving experience. You must not have a colour vision deficiency The role can be physically demanding, you may be required to climb around 1.25 metres into the vehicle from ground level, using a small foothold and handles. There will be times you will be required to also manually use metal levers to operate points on the tracks.
