Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Cheshire East Council is seeking a dedicated SEND Keyworker to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that children and young people with SEND receive the support they need through effective Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of children and young people with EHCPs.
2. Co-ordinate a person-centred, multi-agency approach to assessment and planning.
3. Act as the main keyworker and Named Officer for settings attended by children with SEND.
4. Attend and chair multi-agency meetings, ensuring effective co-production of EHCPs.
5. Support families, providing advice on SEND procedures and signposting to advocacy services.
6. Represent the Local Authority in mediation and tribunal proceedings.
7. Monitor and review SEND support and EHCP implementation, ensuring best use of resources.
About You:
1. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., Education, Social Work, Health, Educational Psychology).
2. Experience working with children and young people with SEND in an educational or support setting.
3. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and person-centred planning.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families and professionals.
5. Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage a demanding caseload.
