We currently sell to over 70 international markets, offering our 6 million active customers a personalised shopping experience and the ability to purchase from a wide range of products using multiple delivery methods and payment types. eCommerce is the biggest department at Next and is based across multiple sites and countries, working across development, testing, support, architecture and more to keep ourselves ahead of the pack.
About the Team
Working in one of the largest QA teams in the country, made up of Manual and Automation Testers of varying levels but also skilled Developers and Product Development Managers as part of the wider eCommerce department. This team focuses on continual delivery of functionality which ensures our customers have the best shopping experience across our UK and international sites.
eCommerce Systems create all our websites in-house and mobile apps for our UK and International eCommerce platforms, then deploy & manage them. All websites and apps are still growing and continually need testing.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Test Analyst to join our growing eCommerce team and to play a crucial role in helping Next drive forward in a fast moving retail environment. You will need extensive experience in manual testing, have some knowledge in automation tools and can help to implement a range of test strategies across our web-based and mobile-based applications.
In this role you will also work on various projects on our eCommerce platform and will play a big part pushing the department forward.
You will be interpreting functional specifications of new features, in order to produce test plans and evolve strategies whilst designing and developing manual and automated tests.
You will proactively liaise with the agile team and key business users during testing, providing timely updates and status reports and alerting of potential issues.
Essential Criteria
1. Both manual and automation front-end testing experience
2. Experience of test estimation, writing test scripts and test planning
3. Cross-browser and app testing knowledge
4. Azure experience would be an advantage
5. Experience of testing in CI/CD environment
6. Java and C# knowledge and experience
7. Great analytical skills and fearless QA mindset to ask the right questions
8. Experience of testing software in an agile delivery environment
9. Excellent communication skills and ability to deal support client teams
10. Experience of testing throughout the full software development life cycle
Desirable Criteria
11. A professional accreditation (such as ISTQB/ ISEB)
12. E-commerce or technical experience within a retail environment
13. Previous project work with transformation/modernisation
