Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Radiologist to join our growing team at Bedford Hospital, which merged with Luton & Dunstable Hospital in April 2020 to form the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is to support the growing workload and service development. The role is based at Bedford Hospital, with potentially one day a week at Luton.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Consultant Radiologist with experience in all aspects of Interventional Radiology, to support the vascular and non vascular interventional work, primarily at Bedford but with cross-site working in future, following the move of vascular service to Luton in 2025.
The role involves ensuring the highest clinical standards in patient management within the hospital, particularly focusing on delivering a high quality imaging service with a specialisation in Interventional Radiology. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues in the Imaging Department to manage all patient referrals to the Trust, contributing to the general radiology workload, including a 1 in 12 on-call rota. Additionally, the role requires providing support to radiographers and sonographers, alongside actively engaging in the teaching and training of specialist registrars, junior medical staff, nursing staff, and medical students. Participation in departmental and Trust-wide Clinical Governance and audit activities is essential, as is a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
