Gates Power Transmission is part of a major international company specialising in the production of Power Transmission belts for the automotive and industrial markets.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we are looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individual to join our local Engineering team. Working full-time in our Dumfries facility on shifts, you will be a competent, suitable qualified and experienced individual who can work as part of a team as well as making individual decisions to support ongoing operational demands within the facility.
The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive remuneration package commensurate with the position, including:
Salary Range £45,300 - £52,950.00 inclusive of shift pay
Shift pattern - Continental.
Pension above industry standards.
Ongoing training and development.
Access to onsite Occupational Health Services.
Key responsibilities:
The work includes carrying out activities listed below with Health, Safety and Environmental considerations:
1. Carrying out all work to Company and Legislative Safety, Compliance and Environmental procedures.
2. Be an effective communicator with all team members.
3. Responsible for the Mechanical maintenance (reactive, planned and improvement) of our plant equipment and processing machinery.
4. Assisting in training of apprentices, including acting as mentor and defining best practices.
5. Supporting facility Project/ Task derived work as defined in support of site continual investment.
ABOUT YOU
Essential Experience:
6. Educated to City & Guild or SVQ Level 3 (Mechanical) and be a time-served fitter.
7. Have held a similar role within an Industrial Environment.
8. Have the ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and standards.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
10. Demonstrate ability to follow written processes and procedures
Desirable Experience:
11. Have a working understanding of ventilation and steam service systems.

12. Demonstrable Reactive and Proactive attitude to equipment repair and lifecycle management.
13. Determination, drive and wiliness to learn.
14. Logical approach to fault finding and problem solving, with a focus on issue prevention.
