Job Description
Position: Service Technician / Hydraulics Engineer / Electromechanical Engineer
A leading provider of hydraulics in the Northeast is seeking a Service Technician / Hydraulics Engineer / Electromechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance on various industrial hydraulic systems in the workshop near Sunderland and at customer sites in surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance on various industrial hydraulic systems.
2. Undertake planned and preventative maintenance.
3. Provide advice, diagnostics, and fault finding of industrial hydraulic systems including pumps, motors, valves, electronic control systems, hydraulic power units, and manifolds.
4. Maintain, repair, and install equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites.
5. Install hydraulic products into various forms of the manufacturing industry.
6. Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on hydraulic equipment.
7. Liaise with various engineering departments.
Requirements:
1. Proven diagnostic skills on complicated hydraulic systems.
2. Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Pump Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, M&E Engineer, Electro Mechanical Engineer, or similar in Hydraulics.
3. Experience in fault finding and diagnosis on electromechanical systems.
4. Experience of PLC programming would be advantageous.
5. Assist in the workshop with strip-down, inspection, reporting, and re-build of hydraulic repairs when required.
6. An electromechanical engineering background in hydraulics, pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, generators, hydraulic power units, filtration units, pipework, or similar industrial products or systems.
7. An electrical engineering qualification would be advantageous, i.e. HND, HNC, NVQ, 18th Edition or similar.
8. Willingness to commute to the workshop near Sunderland.
Package: Circa £30,000 - £40,000, use of company van, overtime, and additional benefits.
