We are looking to recruit a Section 20 Officer to join the team. You will take responsibility for consulting with all service charge payers, using the Section 20 consultation process for all Long-Term Qualifying Agreements and Qualifying Works.
You are likely to come to the role with Section 20 knowledge, understanding the purpose of service charges and how effective communications can really make a difference when working in this business area.
You will be ensuring we are compliance within our legal requirements, communicating clearly the scope and impact of proposed works, gathering and addressing feedback and managing strong records of all consultations and decisions.
You’ll be the first point of contact for Section 20 enquiries providing advice and guidance on the consultation requirements.
You’ll also be reviewing lease and tenancy agreements to ensure we apply the right obligations within the Section 20 consultations, ensuring costs are apportioned correctly and that customers are consulted when this is required.
This will be a busy role and you’ll enjoy the satisfaction of moving through stages of the process.
About you
As mentioned you’ll likely come to the role with knowledge of Section 20 and service charge legislation.
You will be confident that you can meet targets and deadlines and will have experience in working within time constraints.
You’ll be able to manage your workload, adjusting to fluctuating volumes and re-prioritising as you go.
You will present both written and verbal communications in a clear concise manner and will seek to make strong working relationships understanding how these can support results.
You’ll be a confident IT user, with previous experience of working with databases, adjusting processes and problem solving to ensure a stronger work performance.
This is a hybrid role, so you can base yourself from home. You'll ideally be based in commutable distance to the Devizes HUB, enabling you to attend training and join the monthly team meetings.
