Title: Shop Supervisor
Responsible to: Shop Manager
Responsible for: Volunteers
Hours: 7.5 per week (Saturdays)
Location: Buxton Spring Gardens
Salary: £11.44 per hour (£4,461.60 per annum)
Purpose of the Job: As Shop Supervisor, you will ensure the effective day-to-day running of our Lighthouse shops, maximizing profit through a high standard of customer service and providing effective support to volunteers in accordance with Valley CiDS standards and policies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
People Management
1. Promote a positive team culture throughout the shop environment, fostering unity and belonging while supporting the skill sets of individual team members.
2. Ensure volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and understanding of shop operations to perform their roles effectively.
3. Maintain excellence in customer service and overall communication with staff and the public.
4. Take responsibility for the overall running of the shop and volunteers on designated working days.
Sales and Profit
1. Work with the shop manager and assistant shop manager to achieve agreed sales targets to maximize profit through effective stock management and cost control measures.
2. Support your shop manager, assistant shop manager, and Retail Area Managers by monitoring retail competitors, exploring trends, and implementing promotional campaigns for continuous commercial development.
Stock Management
1. Assist and support the shop manager in stock management, ensuring stock is sourced, sorted, processed, and merchandised effectively and timely.
2. Generate a high volume of stock onto the shop sales floor, applying consistent and appropriate pricing, along with Gift Aid where applicable.
3. Identify high-value items for eBay and explore additional revenue streams.
4. Maintain high standards of display and visual merchandising throughout the shop, including attractive window displays.
5. Ensure high levels of cleanliness are consistently maintained.
Policy and Procedure
1. Ensure all Valley CiDS Shop Security procedures and policies are followed.
2. Adhere to Valley CiDS shop Health and Safety policies and protocols, maintaining all building and shop equipment in accordance with regulations.
3. Follow Valley CiDS Gift Aid policies.
4. Implement Retail Risk Assessments at the correct time and complete all paperwork.
5. Consistently follow Manual Handling guidelines.
6. Implement Valley CiDS Safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults.
7. Adhere to Valley CiDS Equality & Diversity policies and practices by all staff and volunteers.
8. Ensure compliance with Valley CiDS Data Protection & Confidentiality policies by all staff and volunteers.
