The Shift Chemist will be working 12-hour shifts (0800 - 2000) and (2000 - 0800) on a rotating basis. You will be responsible for sampling from site, providing analytical data, and managing equipment schedules. Key activities: Operate all laboratory equipment as per the laid down operating practices and procedures. Ensure compliance with the site operator’s procedures, policies, work practices and regulatory requirements Attend regular safety meetings and communications sessions with workgroup Investigate laboratory equipment deficiencies and failures and recommend cost effective improvements Ensure that procedures and planned activities follow Company policies and contribute to their review and improvement Undertake training as offered by the Company to expand competencies Perform all routine testing required at the Sullom Voe Terminal Laboratory to an acceptable standard with the minimum supervision To take samples and perform analyses on-site and/or at third-party locations Report all analysis relevant to the Terminal operation Prepare third-party reports for authorisation by Laboratory Management Primary responsibility will be to the Deputy Laboratory Supervisor WHAT WE OFFER Join Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
