About Us Stradey Park Care Home is a well-established residential care home for adults with learning disabilities and special needs. Located in the heart of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, our home has been providing high-quality care for 32 years. We employ a dedicated team of 12 staff members and accommodate up to eight residents in a stable and supportive environment. We do not accommodate residents with challenging behaviour, allowing us to maintain a structured and harmonious environment. The Role We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Care Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of our home and ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our team, supporting our residents, and upholding the highest care standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise the daily operations of the care home, ensuring full compliance with CIW regulations and local authority guidelines. Lead and support a team of care workers, fostering a positive and professional working environment. Develop, implement, and regularly review individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs. Oversee medication administration and ensure all staff receive appropriate training. Conduct regular assessments of resident needs, adjusting care plans as necessary. Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to provide comprehensive and holistic care. Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident care and staff performance. Organise staff rotas, ensuring sufficient coverage at all times. Ensure residents have access to recreational activities both within and outside the home. Manage resident expenditure records in line with audit compliance. Work alongside the Responsible Individual to maintain full compliance with health and safety legislation. Collaborate with local authorities to ensure the home operates at full capacity. Essential Requirements Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. A commitment to maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment for both residents and staff. Registered with Social Care Wales (or willing to register upon appointment). Comprehensive understanding of CIW regulations and compliance standards. A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, such as QCF Level 5 Health and Social Care in Adults (or an equivalent qualification). What We Offer £34,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience). 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Flexible working hours (on-site presence required, with some flexibility). Working Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, with some weekend availability as needed The role requires on-site presence and the ability to respond to emergencies if necessary.
