Our client is currently seeking a Contracts Officer to join their team in a hybrid role. This role involves working from home with a requirement to be in the office for at least two days per week.
Purpose of the job:
The Contracts Officer is responsible for commissioning and delivering the Home to School Transport Service through a range of providers, ensuring the maintenance of accurate records of provision and contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with providers, colleagues and other stakeholders to devise and implement procedures ensuring a high-quality and safe transport service for vulnerable children and SEND children and adults.
2. Maintain accurate records and monitor performance against budgets to ensure effective monthly forecasting, preparing and reporting on performance and costs.
3. Identify and implement opportunities to improve the quality of transport provision and deliver budget savings, including invest to save opportunities.
4. Analyse financial and other reports to gain insights for performance improvement, growth maximisation and demand management.
5. Maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders, including passengers, parents and carers.
6. Undertake regular and ad hoc contract meetings, ensuring KPIs and deadlines are met and all contract issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
7. Identify service issues and resolve unexpected situations and complaints, implementing continual improvement informed by feedback.
8. Support the procurement and commissioning function, including tender evaluation and contract specification input.

Job Requirements:
1. Good standard of education, especially in English and Maths.
2. Experience in contract management within a multiple provider environment.
3. Experience in stakeholder and relationship management within a contract management environment.
4. Background in working within a customer-focused culture.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams.
6. Ability to write, analyse, and interpret detailed and complex reports.
7. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate data.
8. Awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and the behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs of others.
