About the Role:
Securitas have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Fire Division as a Relief Duty Fire Safety Officer. This role acts as first responder to any fire activations and be responsible for management of fire evacuations in CWML managed Buildings and Estate areas in Canary Wharf. Relief cover required - 12 hour shifts, days/nights and weekends.
Job Opportunity:
Working 12 hour shifts providing relief cover for the core team. Responsibilities include:
1. First responder to any fire activations within CWML managed buildings or the Estate.
2. Principal point of contact with attending Fire Brigade Officer in Charge.
3. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the fire strategies for all CWML managed buildings and Estate areas.
4. Be aware of any specific fire risks on the premises.
5. Provide management cover at weekends for the Estate and the Infrastructure Car Parks managed by CWML, to support maintenance staff and respond to incidents as required.
6. Aid and support Estate management teams during out of hours operations (nights/weekends) to ensure planned works are completed as agreed.
7. Always remain contactable to respond to any incident involving a CWML managed building, liaising with tenants and/or escalating to senior management as required.
Essential Skills:
Experience in a fire safety role or building management/facilities management role is essential, together with a relevant safety related qualification, such as NEBOSH Fire Certificate, Fire Safety Manager etc. Additional competencies include:
1. Thorough knowledge of relevant UK legislation, standards, and codes (RRO, BS 9999 etc.)
2. Ability to remain calm and maintain a clear thought process in potentially hectic situations.
3. Possess influencing skills with the ability to influence behaviours at all levels.
4. Willingness to undertake training and a personal development program.
5. Ability to demonstrate good customer service skills.
Desired Skills:
Must possess excellent training and presentation skills, together with good verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, be computer literate and have good administration skills.
